保护环境的重要性

The environment is our home. We depend on it for food, water, and air. However, our environment is facing serious problems today. Pollution is one of the biggest problems. Air pollution comes from factories and cars. Water pollution comes from waste being dumped into rivers. Soil pollution affects the food we eat. Deforestation is another big problem. People cut down too many trees. Animals lose their homes. Many species are becoming endangered. Climate change is also a serious issue. The earth is getting warmer. Glaciers are melting. Sea levels are rising. If we do not take action, our planet will be in great danger. What can we do to help? First, we should reduce the use of plastic. Bring our own bags when shopping. Second, we should save energy. Turn off the lights when we leave a room. Third, we should use public transportation or ride bikes. This reduces air pollution. Fourth, we should plant more trees. Trees give us oxygen and clean the air. Fifth, we should not waste water. Take shorter showers and fix leaking taps. As students, we can also pick up litter in our school and neighborhood. Small actions can make a big difference. Remember, we do not inherit the earth from our parents. We borrow it from our children. Let us work together to protect our beautiful planet. The earth is our only home. We must take care of it.

准备上初中

Primary school is coming to an end. Soon I will enter middle school. I feel both excited and nervous. Middle school will be different from primary school. There will be more subjects, more homework, and new classmates from other schools. To get ready, I have been preparing during this summer holiday. First, I reviewed my primary school knowledge, especially math and English. I found some weak points and worked on them. Second, I started reading more books to improve my reading speed. Third, I learned to use a planner to organize my daily tasks. My mother bought me a new planner with colorful stickers. I write down my study goals every morning. Fourth, I visited my new school with my parents. The campus is bigger than my primary school. There is a library, a science lab, and a sports field. I also met my homeroom teacher briefly. She seems kind and strict at the same time. I know middle school will bring challenges. But I am ready to face them. Every new stage in life is a chance to grow. I will work hard and make new friends. I believe the best is yet to come.

诚实的价值

Honesty is one of the most important qualities a person can have. It means telling the truth even when it is difficult. I learned this lesson in a hard way last year. I broke my mother's favorite vase while playing ball in the living room. I was scared and hid the pieces under my bed. When my mother asked about the vase, I said I did not know what happened. That night, I could not sleep well. I felt guilty and uncomfortable. The next morning, I told my mother the truth. I expected her to be very angry. But she hugged me and said she was more upset that I lied. She said everyone makes mistakes, but honesty is what matters. Together we cleaned up the mess and glued the vase back together. It still has a small crack, but it stands on the shelf again. Since that day, I always try to be honest. Honesty builds trust between people. When you are honest, others believe in you. When you lie, you lose their trust. It is hard to earn trust back once it is broken. As students, we should be honest in exams, homework, and daily life. An honest person may not be perfect, but he or she is respected. Let honesty guide our actions every day.

Last month, our class played in the school football tournament. We practiced every afternoon for two weeks. At first, everyone wanted to be the star player. We argued about who should shoot and who should defend. We lost our first practice match badly. Our coach Mr. Zhang sat us down and said, "Football is not a one-person game. You win or lose as a team." He taught us to communicate on the field. We learned to pass the ball instead of trying to score alone. We also assigned clear roles. I became a midfielder. My job was to connect defense and attack. In the tournament, we faced a stronger team in the semi-final. We were losing 1-0 at halftime. Instead of blaming each other, we encouraged one another. In the second half, we worked together perfectly. Two teammates passed to me, and I assisted our striker to score the equalizer. We won the match in the final minutes. We did not win the championship, but we won something more important. We learned the true meaning of teamwork. Success comes when everyone plays their part and trusts each other.
